Timeline

1169: Our current good king Matteas is well loved. The heir to the throne is announced in his eldest son Marcus.

1143: The king Matteo is assassinated via poison. No individual is accused and the murder remains a great mystery.

A time period of rebuilding and relatively quiet occurs.

619: The Great War ends. The enemy of Shelan is lost to time and no individual has been known to come from this land. The lands to the east of the country is thought to be this lost country. It is barren and individuals from Shelan have learned to avoid it. This is also the last known time that the gods are seen in Shelan.

623: The Great War begins. No war had ever matched the scale or the level of devastation. Shelan went to war with a neighboring country whose name has now been forgotten. Legend has it that this other country had a single god and this threatened the gods of Shelan, thus sending the two countries into war.

529: The king is assassinated. A knight of the royal order is accused, tried and found guilty. The succeeding king disbands the knights and destroys every temple to the knights as well as all copies of the knights oath. It becomes illegal to be a member of this order, pledge allegiance to this order or to display any symbols of this order.
