Pantheon of Shelan

Dagda

Dagda is the ruler of the very loose pantheon of gods. He is able to separate himself into 12 distinct and powerful entities. All 12 are fully aware and mobile, but 11 are ethereal in nature and roam the world with unlimited range, constantly supplying information to Dagda. These beings have all the qualities of the original, but they must stay in the ethereal state at all times. His other attributes include unlimited use of shape change, telepathy, and legend lore. He is very fond of walking the earth in the form of a shabbily dressed man with a large club.

Dagda has the strength to break anything in his two hands. He uses his club in all battles which can kill or resurrect at his will. His symbol of a bubbling cauldron comes from his ability to summon one forth to brew any form of non-magical liquid or food. He sings with a sentient harp that talks in the common tongue and can control the weather.

Arawn – God of the Dead “The Dark One”

Arawn appears as a normal man and lives upon an island in the sea that only the dead can find. He can kill people with his gaze if he chooses. He has been known to appear if someone restores life to a person he wants to stay in his domain, and will either fight for the dead person or offer a substitute from the vase ranks of the dead. His symbol is a black hand print.

Mananna Mac Lir – God of the Sea

This god appears as a large red-bearded man. He wears armor of sea shells and carries a trident known to absorb the water from his enemies. His greatest enemy is the fire giants and those that worship him will kill any on sight. He has the ability to call any non-godlike creature of the sea to fight for him at any time and legend has he can command as many as 50 at a time. His symbol is the waves of the sea.

Brigit – Goddess of Fire & Poetry

Brigit appears as a tall woman with flame-colored hair. She wields fire and loves to hear poetry sung on the battlefields. She has been known to show favor to a singer of an original composition. Her symbol is that of a scroll with a flame.

Ishtar – Goddess of Love & War

Ishtar never appears to her worshipers in any form other than that of a beautiful woman. She has the strength of a titan, the ability to change shape at will and can use her voice as a means of suggestion. She’s been known to seduce human males but must be very interested in the male. She rides a flying chariot pulled by 7 enchanted lions. Her symbol is that of an egg with a lion’s paw print.

Ki – Goddess of Nature

Ki appears to her followers as an elven woman of great beauty. She can shape change at will and grants the luck of the gods to those she favors. Any non-monster animal is hers to summon and she has been known to command up to 100 at a time. Her symbol is the water lily.
